Are there any tourist spots around to visit?
Hidden Village is based on a concept that allows the visitors to unwind and experience a short getaway or a week end break amidst the lap of nature. Hidden village is nestled in the backdrop of a forest landscape, perfectly blended with the nature and its elements. Visitors to the village should come with an expectation to experience rustic Indian village life, an experience that cannot be imagined in a city life. It’s new and refreshing.
The destination does not offer any visit to a historical site or scenic valleys or mountains, neither does it boast of great beaches or shopping opportunities. Hidden Village is one of its kinds that offer solitude and serenity. It is like a breath of fresh air.
The place does have a historical importance if we go by the history books. The famous Tansa Dam is a good 9 kms drive from the village that gives a scenic view of the river and valley. The dam was constructed by the British approx. 55 years before Indian independence in 1892 and was one of the main sources of water supply to Greater Mumbai. The drive to Tansa dam can be a thrilling experience amidst deep forest landscape, especially in monsoon and winter.
How to reach there?
There are multiple ways you can reach Hidden Village. If you have your own car, it’s just an hour drive from Thane on the Mumbai Nasik highway. You can get access to the village by rail also, if you like to travel by train. Deboard at Atgaon station after boarding the CST Kasara local train from CST terminal. From Atgaon you can hire a auto rickshaw that can reach you to the village that is just two Kms away. The rickshaw drivers phone numbers are shared with guests once they have a confirmed booking. Also it’s a fixed fare of 100 Rs one way.
What is the food like?
Our packages are on full board basis that includes all meals, lunch, high tea snack, dinner and next morning breakfast depending on your check in time. The meals are served every day on buffet basis in the common guest dining area. If you want buffet food in room, this will be delivered at a small service charge. A menu is kept in all rooms, where you can order limited items like soups, snacks, starters, Indian and Chinese cuisine, this will be at additional cost.
Do you serve food in the room?
Yes, we do have a policy in place for in room dining services. We prefer our guests to enjoy our delicious buffet spread set up in the common dining area. However if any guest prefers it to be supplied to the respective rooms, it is possible but a small service charge will be applicable.
If the guests choose to order from the A La carte menu then no extra service charges are applicable. Also, if a guest is physically challenged, senior citizen or pregnant, we don’t charge any additional service charge, for in room dining.
What facilities are there in the room?
The village offers well-appointed rooms that are infused with all basic modern amenities. Each room has a private balcony overlooking the serene forest landscape and water bodies. The rooms offer excellent privacy for couples making the property a couple friendly in nature. Each room has a Flat TV, a fridge and bathrooms fitted with 24 Hr hot water supply facility, shower and western toilet. The bathrooms are neatly done blending well with the design of the rooms and maintain strict hygiene policies. All the rooms in the property are well air conditioned.
Do you allow pets?
Yes we do allow pets, provided it does not cause trouble to other guests, and out freely moving birds. If it’s a dog, it need be kept under leash. Also carry its sleeping rug or mat, village property (linen) shouldn’t be spoiled on this account.
What is the Booking procedure?
Call up our office on the phone numbers on website, check for the day you desire if it is available, as well as the room you would like to book. If it is available then you will be informed following that you will need to do a down payment of 50%, through online (payment gateway available on website). Once it shows up in our system our office will acknowledge it via SMS, which confirms your booking. For cancellation check our cancellation policy in the website.
Do you have a hall, for small events or conference facility for corporates?
Hidden village is a boutique property curated in a theme to cater to mid-size groups and host corporate meetings and social events up to a capacity of 120 Pax. The hall that we have can make perfect set up for social functions like birthday, anniversary, small corporate gathering etc.
Can we play cricket?
The forest village has an open ground that can be well utilized for various sporting events like cricket, volleyball, badminton etc.
How is the mobile connectivity? Do you have wi-fi for visitors?
We are hidden but can’t ignore the basic necessities of modern time. Yes, we do provide free internet/Wi-Fi for our guests. While you stay at hidden village we help you stay connected. All Indian mobile networks do work normally in our village except few areas.
How safe is the place for families?
Hidden Village is also a safe haven for the guests who visit us to unwind and relax, leave all worries behind and just enjoy the serenity and solitude of the destination. There are no elements in or around our property that can pose a threat to all of our resident guests, in-spite of being a forest themed property.
However we do not recommend our guests to venture alone at night in the forest area, or litter food items around the property. Food items scattered by guests might attract unwelcome creatures. The staff members of the property are local village residents and extremely committed to their jobs and together we make sure of a great environment, warm hospitality, sincerity and security to all our esteemed guests.
If you have a senior citizens or others with walking difficulties please inform our staff while booking, they will suggest houses closer to the entrance.
Why do I have to show ID proof?
We at the Hidden Village strictly abide by the law of the land. Indian government has made it mandatory for all guests checking in at any hotel to produce his/her valid identity proof. We have to keep the records in our guest log book as a govt protocol. One has to carry his/her Adhaar card, Pancard or Driving licence (photo ID card) at the time of checking in at the property. The personal information shared by our guests is kept confidential and is never shared with any third party for any purpose, unless demanded by Govt authorities for any specific scrutiny.
How is the electricity power scenario?
We have 24×7 uninterrupted power supply at Hidden Village. The property is located within the area of national grid lines that provides dedicated power supply to Atgaon industrial area. Power cuts or outages are a rare event but during the heavy rains in monsoon season we have incidents of power cuts for short durations, in which case we have inverters as instant 1st back-up and in case of prolonged disruption our 2nd/main back up silent generator will go on, which ensures continuous power supply in full capacity.
Do you allow DJ music and rain dance?
We have a designated area dedicated for small celebrations away from most houses with in the village. In near future we shall develop the same into a full fledge picnic point with all ingredients necessary for an outdoor party, in the newly acquired land behind the waterfall area. Currently we don’t have a resident DJ or an arrangement of an outdoor rain dance party. We don’t have objection to guest bringing along with their small karaoke / music system, however the sound decibels need be kept low so it doesn’t disturb the tranquillity of the village.
