HIDDEN VILLAGE RESORT

MAGICAL, MYSTIC, NATURAL, 100% PURE & REFRESHING VILLAGE EXPERIENCE!!!

As soon as I entered Hidden Village Resort… I regretted….I regretted for my decision of one night booking, I should have done for minimum 2 nights. It was awesomeeeee man….

This resort is an awesomely beautiful natural place. I am for sure going to visit this place in Monsoon. If it’s so beautiful in winter then I just can’t imagine what will be the scenario in monsoon.

“Hidden Village Resort” is the name of a much needed break for everyone (Kids, Families, Couples & Senior citizens) who is busy in urban life. It’s a perfect refreshing & natural place at absolutely affordable price. The website of this resort “www.hiddenvillage.in” may not give you complete idea of this resort but its 10 times better than what it looks on website. Distance wise it is not more than 2 hrs. away from Mumbai (about 80kms on NH 3 towards Nashik). All details of “How to reach n all” are given on website & Google. The road to This resort is absolutely smooth and good till the gate. Its pretty close to Atagaon railway station (not more than 10 mins by vehicle or rickshaw)

HOW TO GO ??? On the Mumbai Nashik highway, 6km after Shahapur (Raj Kiran Hotel –Right Side) leave 1st left(Railway crossing) and take 2nd left (service road), left again under railway subway, then right towards Atagaon Station (on right)you are on west of railway station. This is road to Tansa Dam, drive around 2kms ahead and you will notice a bamboo enclave on the left side of the road with a sign of “H” on the wall…It is entry gate of Hidden Village Resort.

THEME:

It’s a four acre living landscape. Its good for people who want to take a peaceful break from their hectic and stressful urban life. Its great for those who love nature and want to spend time with natural elements with a taste of village. The resort has a source of fresh spring that oozes water throughout year.

RESORT, STAFF, FOOD, FACILITY & ACTIVITIES

Hidden Village is a unique resort with natural springs, water bodies. It has beautiful and undisturbed flora and fauna. It’s a perfect place to have great time with yourself and your loved ones.
At the entrance you feel like you are about to enter a village, once you check in your room you will feel you have all needed amenities like modern wash rooms, TV with Channels, Freeze and other needed facilities. But still the natural things waiting outside your room are much
better and peaceful.

The different rooms like Patil House, Hill House, Crest House, Fern House, Hill Camp and special to mention Venus & Cupid House are justttt superb with private bath tub and lavish interiors at a very reasonable price.
Few of the best things about this resort are….Food is good and definitely leaves a memory on your taste buds as it is cooked on Indian “Chulha” with village tadka; on demand kitchen staff also prepares the food as you wish with additional cost. Nicely set up game (Game zone)area is surrounded by lush green trees, where they have provided Carom, Table Tennis, Pool and few more games for entertainment.

Many small things are taken care very well by the owner Tony D’Souza and his entire team. Room service and resort staff is amazing, very friendly and polite. The staff is very helpful in case of any needful situation. The staff is mainly from the nearby villages but they are well mannered and kind, they are as good as any hotel management guys.

Resort doesn’t allow nuisance creating crowd (no stag entries) So its a very safe & sound option for families & couples.

Swimming pool is great place to have fun with family and friends, even in the midst of a tree cover they have maintained a very clean pool by putting up shade cum roof on the pool area.

Most memorable thing is natural fish spa or foot massage at the small pond inside resort, the pond has black rocks at the bottom so the water looks black but its clean for bath and swimming also. The hundreds and thousands of small fishes does nice foot spa and that’s an amazing experience to cherish for long time. During rainy season you will also get a natural waterfall.

Overall resort is a paradise for nature lovers, Peace seekers, Bird & Macro photographers. Its a great place to relax with your family & kids in the vicinity of nature. Resort conducts lots of activities like nature trails, lake visit and many activities to begin soon.

Overall it’s a must go place…I recommend it veryyyyy strongly. Take a break and visit this hidden village, you will discover a great pleasure and treasure of nature.

Hidden Village is a Village theme based resort that gives you very basic but pure and refreshing options mostly natural, So if someone has expectations of ultra modern amenities and food, kindly dont visit this place. This is a heart touching and soul refreshing place for nature lovers and peace seekers.

A Forest in Hiding near Mumbai

There is a serene lake around 20 minutes away along a dirt track. In the evenings, residents of Sakhroli village, and occasionally, their livestock, can be seen taking a dip in the green waters. Photo: Jayesh Timbadia

Most travellers on the Mumbai-Nashik highway don’t give more than a passing glance to the unmarked exit that connects to a crumbly road leading to Sakhroli village. Even while driving through, there doesn’t seem to be much beyond a few open fields, billboards advertising resorts several kilometres away, shops, and the occasional tree. However, a couple of kilometres along the winding road, a gate with conspicuous foliage catches the eye. A closer look reveals a small mud tablet with three barely-legible words inscribed. The sound of a stream can be heard as it swishes quietly under a little bridge ahead. What lies beyond is an oasis of leaves and branches that, a few minutes ago, seemed impossible to find in the barren landscape. Hidden Village is true to its name. Owner Tony D’Souza’s pet project, to create, in his words, “a place to forget about the city and just chill”, started in 2004 when he bought a patch of barren land and set about turning it into a forested retreat. Eleven years on, tall, leafy trees overlook little cottages and tents, and routes charted by bamboo fences. Ducks, geese, and chickens with a license to roam free strut about in organised lines; the hens shepherd the chicks as they search for treasures in the mud. Marathi songs softly play from a radio inside a thatched-roof kitchen and dining area. The rural illusion is compelling. Only a few oddly-placed electrical appliances betray the fact that this is a hotel.

Further inside, the sounds of laughter and splashes emerge from a large, unconventional swimming pool (it’s actually a cement-bottomed water tank) that is fed by fresh water from a perennial stream. It’s a colourful world far removed from the highway traffic that is just a few hundred metres away. There’s little distraction apart from a couple of quiet walks and a carom board. Rest and relaxation are rather unavoidable.

Explore
Laze

A stay at Hidden Village brings the bustle of city life to a grinding halt. The quiet four-acre property is cooled, even in the summer, by the abundant foliage. Most visitors will find comfort in relaxing on the front porch of their cottages drinking tea from earthen cups. The swimming pool, fed by fresh water, is well maintained. Fallen leaves may mislead some into thinking the pool isn’t clean, but that isn’t the case. A little away from the swimming pool is another small water body inhabited by tiny fish that conduct impromptu pedicures on feet dipped inside it. The games room has a carom board, billiards, table-tennis, and a fussball table. There’s a separate play area for children with swings, slides and merry-go-rounds. A large animal pen near the entrance has rabbits and goats that can be petted and fed, as well as scores of chicken, geese, and ducks.

Walk

Hidden Village is just off the Mumbai-Nashik highway, so there isn’t too much to see or do. Visitors can take an evening walk along a dirt trail to a nearby lake, to sit on rocks, and watch the sun set. The hotel organises a local guide to take visitors for a trek to the Mahuli fort nearby. Most visitors usually don’t trek for longer than a couple of hours to get a glimpse of Tansa Lake, but enthusiasts can venture out further into the rocky terrain for a longer outing.

Stay

Visitors to the Hidden Village can choose between a quick day trip or longer stay. The accommodation options are the same for both (97020 55792/98671 55792; www.hiddenvillage.in).

Tents

Those on a budget can forgo the luxury of a bed to stay in crawl-in tents for two. They are reasonably spacious, with clean mattresses on the floor, a small table fan and reading light. Larger groups can book the entire ‘camp house’, a set of four tents packed together, that look like a strangely modern Native American campsite. The tents surround a large, sheltered sitting area, which is secluded from the rest of the property, and seems like a place where a large family could have a lot of fun. It has a hygienic shared bathroom (Camp House accommodates 8-12 people; Rs 1,7833 per head for overnight stay; Rs 900 for day trip).

Cottages

There are nine kinds of cottages spread across Hidden Village, each with its own design. The Crest, Hill, and Patil Houses are spacious, and designed with little sit-outs and interconnected rooms for larger groups (doubles Rs 3,8570-4,025). There are three honeymoon suites, Fern House, Forest House and Exotic House, that are strictly for couples (no kids allowed). These have a private entrance to the swimming pool and are fitted with ambient lights and hot tubs (doubles Rs 5,313). Cupid House, Cabin House and Venus House are larger and can accommodate more than one couple(doubles ₹5500-6300; ₹3000-3500 for day trip).

All prices include accommodation, meals, and all activities, except payment for the trekking guide, which is at the visitors’ discretion. No charge for children below 4. Half price for children aged 4-12.

Eat

Food at the Hidden Village is a simple affair. It is cooked by local villagers, and is an understated buffet of vegetables, dals, rice, and one non-vegetarian dish (chicken, and occasionally fish). The spread is served in large metal pots and laid out in a sheltered dining area where visitors can help themselves. Meal timings are strict, and latecomers make do with a cold meal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the dining area, while tea and an evening snack are served to guests at their tents or cottages. Special requests for food can be made, but are subject to ingredients being available and the cooks knowing how to make it. Barbecue equipment is also available on request.

Local Conservation

In addition to providing a quiet escape for city dwellers, Hidden Village is a platform to restore the bruised environment and provide employment for local villagers. The area used to be a forest, filled with trees and interesting animal and birdlife, before being ravaged by hunting and deforestation. The locals, often strapped for cash, resorted to selling firewood to traders to make ends meet. With the Hidden Village as a starting point, owner Tony D’Souza hopes to restore the local ecosystem to the way it once was, by slowly rebuilding the forest, improving the locals’ quality of life, and educating them about environmental conservation.

Hidden Village : A hidden gem outskirts of Mumbai#CoupleFriendly #offbeatgetaway

The hidden village is true to its name. It is really hidden unless you give proper attention to its logo outside its entrance. Hidden Village Shahpur is a serene place, good for couples.

Hidden Village has been given a village look, you will find some water bodies inside, few birds and animals wandering here and there, in evening you can witness ducks doing parade ????, bull cart parked in a corner, dining area has given a village look too.

WHERE IS HIDDEN VILLAGE? : Atgaon, Shahapur.

HOW TO REACH HIDDEN VILLAGE? : Board Kasara train, get down at Atgaon station, get a taxi or auto.

COST : 4000 per night including all meals for two people(PS : we visited Hidden Village in 2017 now price is 4025)

Cost depends on house you select, there are quite 7-8 types of houses(all are good).

One day picnic option at Hidden Village is there which costs 900Rs including meals.

We opted for Hill house at Hidden Village. All houses looks like village houses from outside but all amenities are provided inside. This is how Hill house looks.

Day 1

Hidden Village
We caught 9.15AM Kasara local from Thane station, reached Atgaon station in one hour, took taxi from there to the entrance of Hidden Village.

Just after entering inside Hidden Village, you feel like coming in a jungle, bamboo trees on both sides. After few mins walking you get to see a small water body with a small bridge over it and there itself you start relaxing your mind.

After we made our remaining payment ( half payment you need to do online for confirmation) we we’re shown our houses at Hidden Village. The route to our house was through lush greenery, a small waterfall, a fresh water pond, chirping of birds, trust me you will enjoy every single minute there if you are nature lover❤️

After we got freshen up, we went for lunch. Dining area gives village home like feeling. They provide homemade food at Hidden Village which contains sabji, roti, daal, rice, pickle, papad and sweet that to unlimited ????. It was really tasty. They also arrange non-veg if demanded.

After lunch we took small walk around the property, I was enjoying every single moment at Hidden Village with beauty of nature. We had reservation for two days so we had plenty of time. If you want you can cover everything in a day.

4.00 PM :

We we’re knowing that there is a lake behind hills on 10 mins walking distance so we planned to go there. If you don’t know just ask any coordinators there they will guide you.

Since we went to Hidden Village in month of July we found much greenery everywhere which satisfied our trip buds???? in every aspect. Even the road to lake with small springs made us all smiling till we reach there and the lake soaked us in sheer peace. It is so fascinating to look at still-water!!!

After some time it started raining lightly so headed back to our place. By the time we reach there, it was more cloudy so we went to recreation.

In recreation, you will find a pool table, a carom board, table tennis, a fuss ball table at Hidden Village.( Now they have some outdoor games and kids play area also which was under construction when we visited).

I learned to hold cue stick for the first time in my life and it was fun????. We did play table tennis, fuss ball. Now it was turn of carom but we we’re hungry so went for dinner.

At the time of lunch we asked them for non veg dinner and so they had arranged it. Dinner was also pretty good, it has homemade taste. They do have a small shop beside dinning area to buy snacks.

After our dinner we again Headed to recreation as I wanted to do some Mastery in pool 😉

Day 2

11.00 AM

We got up little late????, then freshen up and went for lunch. In lunch we had proper veg homemade thali.

After lunch it was time to have some fun time in water!!!!! We stared with waterfall, got soaked there, it was fun playing around in water. Then we headed their small fresh water pool. It could have been more clean but it’s okay. They have 2-3 balls there, we played in water here and there till evening.

Around 4.00/5.00 PM we decided to stop water splurging and get into rooms for hot water bath.

Now it was time for evening snacks. So we went to dining area and got served with garma garam poha and tea/coffee, again it was tasty and we were super hungry at that time.

They serve tea/coffee in small earthen pots which looks cute!!

Sadly after breakfast we found out that one of our friends is not feeling well so we decided to be in room for entire evening and played indoor games.

At night around 9.00 PM had our dinner and went to sleep.

Day 3
9.00AM

On last day we got up early as we didn’t want to miss our breakfast so after getting fresh we headed for breakfast with our bags packed so that we can check out after breakfast (we’re lazy enough to not go back to room and come with bags).

In breakfast options were bread butter, bread omelette, misal pav, tea/coffee.

After check out we decided to take walk till Atgaon station as we wanted to enjoy nature around.

Thus our 2 day stay in hidden village was super awesome and we grab so many memories there.

I highly recommend to visit Hidden Village in monsoon as it is treat to eyes and soul.

Soon after we went in one of our rooms at Hidden Village and did chit chat till we fell asleep.
